Well here we go, it's two days before New Years and our 8 year old decided to come home with a fever and earache! Seriously?!?!?! Have you ever just looked at someone and new the wheel was turning but the hamster was dead? Yeah, that was Aces face yesterday ( our 8 year old). I knew he was in there somewhere but he was internally fighting off something. Usually I'd grab for the fever reducing tylenol and prescription Ciprodex for his ear problem BUT this time I didn't! Instead I mixed together the Panaway, Lemon and Lavender in that small bottle and titled it "Earache for what?" <---- (I know right? Coolest f'ing mom ever!!! I even embedded a link for you just in case you haven't heard that song). Ok, back to the good stuff... for this recipe I put three drops of the Panaway, Lemon and Lavender in the bottle and filled the rest with olive oil. I rubbed it on the back of his ears and the exposed outer layer. Do not put oils directly in the ear! In addition to rubbing this on his ears I also rubbed Peppermint oil down his spine and on the back of his neck to reduce the fever. I then had Ace rub Thieves mixed with coconut oil on the bottom of his feet to draw out infection (I mix 1/4 cup of coconut oil with 10 drops of Thieves). Let me tell you what... if you have children, or work with children, Thieves is the Holy Grail of oils (in my awesome opinion) to have at all times! I will definitely be blogging more about that one later! Last but not least I diffused the sh#t out of that Thieves throughout the entire house! Everyone benefits from this. So let's some things up: My sickly 8 year had a 100.5 fever at 6 p.m. last night... within a couple of hours his temperature was at 98.6 and his ears didn't 'hurt no more'. He woke up this morning still fever free and earache free! Yay!!!! Time to partayyyyy tomorrow (with the family)! Just for your info, every single one of the oils comes with a starter kit, say whaaaat? If you'd like to order click on the happy guy below rubbing his feet with Thieves :) Until then... may your New Year's end with counting numbers backwards rather than reciting the alphabet backwards!

Sooooo if you've ever had to deal with eczema you'll quickly relate to how important this blog is! If you actually read the 'about me' section (kudos to you!!!) then you already know my son deals with this stubborn a$$ skin condition. Let me sum this lovely little condition up for you... it's like the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears! Eczema doesn't like it when things are too hot, it flares up. Eczema doesn't like it when things are too cold, it flares up. Eczema doesn't like it when things are too sweaty, it flares up (Ok look, I know the sweaty part wasn't in the story but serioulsy... Goldilocks wouldn't have liked a bed that made her sweaty either). Eczema doesn't like anything but just the right type of weather with the perfect amount of moisture, wtf?!?!?! So what do we do? We went to the doctor and got some steroid cream prescribed. Now, when the lady at the counter brought the cream out and rang it up she said "Your total today will be ONE MILLION DOLLARS... MWAHAHAHAHA!" Just kidding :) but she did tell me the total was in fact $300 with insurance and $800 without insurance. My first response was almost "Are you out of your f%ck#ng mind?" but then I realilzed other civil humans were around so I asked her to double check and then politely handed her my husbands AMEX :) Either way, that was a ton of money and I just prayed that stuff would work... Well sure enough that stuff didn't work! I mean it would calm down the flares a little but never really took it away... what a dissapointment. I started researching other ways to fight this nasty little condition and that's when I came across the Essential Oils blend of Melrose and Lavendar. Now a lot of people use serveral differnt kinds of carrier oils but I prefer coconut oil. In a glass jar I mixed up 1/4 a cup of coconut oil with 10 drops each of Melrose and Lavendar. My little guy had a bad flare up with the cold front that came through and I could tell his face was on fire, poor thing, DAMN YOU ECZEMA<---insert angry fist shake to the sky here. I applied the concoction to his face the night before and what do you know, the stuff worked! He has been completely clear since using the Melrose and Lavender. (See before and after picture above). Now I must say, this beats expensive creams and fire face! There are several other recipes to try but this one worked for us which is why I am recommending it to you. Hope you found this little blog useful, stay tuned for more fun discoveries I stumble upon! Want to order these products or a fabulous starter kit? Click on this happy, eczema free kid below! |
