Let’s talk about feet and how we just love them smell of them after a long, hard day… orrrrr let’s not. No one wants to smell that mess! I mean seriously, I don’t even like the smell of my own feet let alone anyone else’s. This leads me to my next case in point, Purification essential oil and how wonderful it smells! Click the picture to view a range of it's uses. OK, so this stuff is the bees knees (<--- which if you think about it bees knees probably don’t smell fabulous either). Purification EO is a blend of Citronella, Lavandin, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Myrtle, and Tea Tree oil. That concoction mixed together can knock out any unwanted smell in your home, car or office. Just remember, if someone tells you that your house smells like ‘college’ that is not a compliment… ever. My favorite use for Purification is simply diffusing it throughout the house, especially when guests are about to come over. I live in a house of ALL boys and that alone makes combating unusual odors a nearly impossible task! I will literally open my 8 year olds closet door and be slapped in the face with something so foul smelling I feel like I’m going to find a dead animal tucked away in the corner! I will tear his closet apart finding nothing, absolutely-freaking nothing! (Hey, I know some of you boy mom’s know exactly what I’m talking about). This is when I bust out the purification, I’ll diffuse it and mix a little in a spray bottle with water and spray the heck out of his bedroom and closet. I do the same thing with his shoes; I’ll put a drop or two in each shoe and toss them in the shoe closet he shares with my husband. I will also frequently spray that shoe closet down as well. Purification is mainly used in our household to combat smelly odors but I will use it for sore throats and earaches. In my ‘earache for what’ blog I described the mixture I used to help relieve my son’s earache. You can reference back to that blog which was posted in December. You can also rub a drop or two on your neck to help alleviate sore throats and even prevent them from occurring. *BONUS USE* Now y’all know here in east Texas them skeeters are bad! With Purification containing citronella it is natural mosquito and bug repellent! Put some in your lotion, apply and then enjoy the outdoors. You could also spray it around the doors of your home to keep the insects away! This smell good oil is included in the starter kit and has a ton of uses, I highly recommend. For more information click on the pic below and remember, smell is something that's really memorable... how do you want to be remembered? :)

We shall call him king, King Frankincense… that’s how much he rules!!! (<--- so corny, I know). First of all let me start off by saying that this stuff was given to baby Jesus in the New Testament. I mean I could just stop typing about it right there because that’s really enough justification but I’ll divulge in further just because! If you want to see it's uses right now click on the pretty little pic with flowers :) OK, so oils remind me of having kids… multiple kids. You don’t say you have a favorite because you love them all for different reasons (but deep down you probably have a favorite <--- GASP! Did she just say that? Yes I did…) and you’d never say which one you like the most! Frankincense is not my favorite, or maybe it is, but it is one of the must have essential oils I keep in my house! I use this oil a lot for healing wounds and diminishing scars. Hey preggos, if you’re reading this right now throw a few drops in your belly butter and rub it in daily! This will help prevent stretch marks and help promote healthier skin elasticity!!!! AMAZE-BALLS!!! (Not including the extra set that might be currently forming in your belly right now). So let’s talk some more about skin. I don’t know about you but I’m all about looking younger than my actual age. This is becoming much more difficult because my son believes I've been 29 for the past 3 years!!! Adding a drop of Frankincense to your daily moisturizer acts as a great anti-aging supplement making fine lines appear less noticeable. If you do not have overly sensitive skin you can even dab it directly on the fine lines, viola! This King oil can also be applied to help fight and prevent cystic acne which is a great alternative compared to more invasive treatment. Frankincense is also an amazing anti-inflammatory agent. This can be used in lieu of over the counter meds such as Tylenol, Advil, Ibuprofen, etc… Many users notice comfort when applied to gout, arthritis, carpel tunnel and even shingles discomfort. It really is amazing stuff! Did I also mention that King Frankincense helps to knock out colds and congestion??? Just diffuse this bad boy and breath it in… you can also create a salve and rub it on your chest. The best mix I’ve found is Frankincense, Lemon and RC mixed with coconut oil. So as you can see I love this oil because it tackles the toughest of tough… skin, skin and more skin! For some great info on this oil, which also comes in the starter kit, click on the fabulous pic below. Until then remember, you can’t buy happiness but you can buy oils (and it’s kind of the same thing)!
Seriously this is the best break-up I've ever had! I love that now when life gets a little crazy my brain sends a message to the rest of my body "Error 404: Stress Not Found"... it's like I just throat punched that hoe (and it felt good)! Stress Away, the wonderful oil that makes everything feel good :) There are several ways to use this oil (which I've embedded its uses in the pic) but the primary ways I use Stress Away is through diffusing and direct application. When I'm at work I ALWAYS diffuse this oil! Don't misunderstand, I'm not stressed 24/7 and I love what I do but this helps to keep me calm when things do get hectic! I work with children and there are several occasions when they may need to come in for a 'pep talk'. I usually always have this diffusing and they instantly get curious, when I tell them what it is they immediately ask for some before they go back to class! I have no problem applying a drop to their wrists :) This leads to my next application... applying behind the ears and on the wrists. These are known pressure points and when applied topically it penetrates directly to them giving an almost immediate sense of relief and calmness. Pretty cool right??? I'm not a chemist, physicist, scientist, pathologist or any other medical practitioner so I can't explain exactly how it works in detail but you get the point, I hope. Well, there you have it... Stress Away! If you would like more information on this wonderful oil please click the picture below. Until then don't have a BRO-DOWN THROW DOWN! Ok, so I have to tell you guys a funny story that made me finally be able to put Lavendar into a relatable perspective. I was at the gym talking to a friend about the fact that our boys have eczema and how the Melrose and Lavender help with that. We got on the topic of Lavender for sleep when she made the comment (and I'm going to use fake names for privacy purposes) "I remember when Max had a meltdown before bed and the only thing I coud think of was to start shaking the Lavender oil on him!" I just died laughing because I immidiately told her she was performing a 'night night' exorcism with Lavendar! Then it hit me... OMG, Lavendar is seriously the holy water of oils! I mean let's think about it, I already have the holy grail (Thieves) and now I have the holy oil! Whooohoooooo! If you take offense to that please go rub some Stress Away on and then continue reading, I'll wait.... Ok, now that we're all back let's talk about the number one use I have for Lavender and why it's my favorite. I rub Lavender behind my boys ears and down their back every night to get them calmed down for bed. It's like giving them Ambien (which would be awesome but obvi totally wrong....right?) I also diffuse it in conjuction with any of my other oils that are needed. Another reason I love this stuff because if you didn't know here in east Texas we have mosquitos the size of birds during the summer and it's ridiculous! Lavender helps alleviate bug bites, scrapes, burns and cuts by acting as an anti-inflammatory. Pretty cool right? I've embedded a link in the above picture to detail a ton of other uses that I'm too lazy to list out at the moment (football playoffs are on and really I just want to go watch)! Well there you have it, my number #1 oil LAVENDER! I hope you found this blog useful and if you want to know more or would like to have this holy oil in your household click the pic below. Until then GO COWBOYS!!!! So let's talk about my second favorite oil of all time (so far), Thieves! When I said it was the holy grail of oils I meant it... this magic unicorn sh*t right here tackles all sorts of issues. (I've embedded a link in the pic for a rundown of some of its uses). I absolutely refuse to not have this in my house... First off the smell is AMAZING! I love the smell of cinnamon so this is a win - win on so many levels. Thieves is an amazing blend of cinnamon, lemon, eucalyptus, cloves and rosemary. This oil 'blend' acts as an anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-parasitic agent. So basically it's telling all the nasty germs to "go home, you're drunk"! I diffuse this daily to keep any potential sickness at bay such as the dreaded flu virus. I can absolutely attest to the fact that this helps to keep our household healthy and happy! I always keep a coconut oil and Thieves salve in the house as well. I just mix 1/4 cup of coconut with 10 drops of Thieves. Anytime someone does start feeling the cruds coming on they get it rubbed on the bottom of their feet to draw out infection and also on the chest to help flush out any other gunk going on in the body. #Fun Fact Time# Thieves blend was created based on the historical account of four thieves in France who protected themselves from the Black Plague with cloves, rosemary and other aromatics while robbing victims suffering from the killer disease. When captured, they were offered a lighter sentence in exchange for their secret recipe. Hey... if it can help fight off the Black Plague I'll keep it in my home! This magic unicorn sh*t, Thieves, is also available in the starter kit along with a free shipping reimbursement right now, for f'ing real! Click on the magic unicorn to find out more... Let's get minty! Peppermint is my 3rd favorite oil (so far). This stuff is amaze-balls because it treats so many common ailments. I could talk about this all day but I'll keep it short to the three aforementioned in the title. (But I did embed a link in the picture so you can see a spectrum of its uses). 1. Nausea: As far as I can tell no one really likes to feel like they're going to vomit in their lap, like ever... which is why Peppermint is soooooo awesome. Christmas day we traveled to my aunt and uncles (through some very windy back roads) and by the time we got there I thought I was going to lose my breakfast. The thought of that made me very sad because I usually eat very clean and I actually had biscuits and gravy that morning! Anyways, my cousin just happened to have her YL EO (young living essential oil) travel kit with her. She whipped out the peppermint and had me smell it for a minute. I then dabbed some on my upper lip and let it do it's magic. Within minutes I felt like eating everything in sight! Peppermint 1 - Nausea 0. <----- Take note my preggo friends! 2. Heartburn: The fact sometimes I feel like I have a raging fire from hell in my chest periodically just flat out sucks. When I get heartburn most of the time I cannot pinpoint the cause and it seems to come full force with no warning! I combat this blaze of non-glory by ingesting peppermint. I either mix it with a smoothie (which gives it a delish minty flavor) or I put a drop in at least 16 oz of water because the taste can be strong. When the burn is real bad I simply put one drop under my tongue and let it work-work-work. Peppermint 2 - Heartburn 0. <----- Hey preggos, are you seeing this score??? 3. Headache: Yay! A headache... I can hardly contain my excitement! (insert eye roll here). Most of the time I know where my headache comes from, yes, poor choices with my friend wine or one of its buddies. Every now and then I'll get a monster headache out of nowhere! I mean seriously, I'll be having a fabulous day when all of a sudden it feels like a grenade went off in my brain... WWHHHYYYY? I just apply the peppermint on my temples and along the forehead area and then let it get to work. I will apply periodically throughout the day until it's completely relieved. My liver thanks me too since I'm not plowing it with Tylenol all day :) Peppermint 3 - Headache 0. <----- Okay preggos, one more time, look at the score :) So there you have it, my brief rundown of the few uses for peppermint. Hey, maybe it is time we try those hippie oils huh??? Below is a pic of one of my smoothie recipes using peppermint oil (along with an embedded link to click on for ordering, free shipping through January 17th) and it is delish! |
